WHAT: Pride in Government Holiday Reception
WHEN: Thursday, December 7th, 2023, from 5 PM-8:30 PM
FOR: Governmental LGBTQIA+ Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) / Staff Associations. Significant Others are welcomed
WHERE: Library of Congress, “Live! At the Library”
· The Library’s Thomas Jefferson Building is open for extended hours every Thursday evening from 5 to 8 p.m. Visitors are invited to gather in the Great Hall to enjoy happy hour snacks and drinks available for purchase in the Great Hall, which will be decorated for the holiday season.
· Attendees are welcome to appreciate live music, performances, films and displays that showcase the broad range of holdings at the national library.
· Attendees can also experience the Library’s grand Main Reading Room in the Thomas Jefferson Building. Usually reserved for credentialed researchers, this access offers visitors a glimpse inside one of Washington’s most beautiful spaces.
· Much like July’s event, governmental LGBTQIA+ staff associations/ERGS will be converging upon a public space. The Library of Congress is excited to host our groups as part of this larger, public event.
· Other Venue & Evening Information:
- Exhibits will be open 5 PM - 8:30 PM
- Main Reading Room likely open 5 PM-7:30 PM
- The musical performance will be from 6:15 PM-7 PM & 7:15 PM - 8 PM
- Building closes at 8:30 PM

When folks arrive at the Library on December 7th, if they are asked for their RSVP, they can simply cite the name of the name of group (Pride in Government Holiday Reception) which will allow them entry.
