Air Traffic Controller, (ZKC, Olathe, KS)

Bernard is an Air Traffic Controller at Kansas City Center (ZKC). Prior to being at ZKC, Bernard was a controller at Fort Wayne, IN for 3.5 years and previous to that he was an Air Force Controller for 6 years. Bernard is married to his husband Mark, they have two wonderful children, Hensley and Phoenix. Bernard and Mark find it hard to not travel, normally planning the next place to visit on their current trip. Aviation is a huge part of Bernard's family, especially plane spotting when sitting around and BBQ'ing. When Bernard isn't studying for school, he can be found crafting on his Cricut or preparing Halloween decorations year round. 

Bernard finds importance in visibility for the LGBTQIA+ community. He enjoys talking all things LGBTQIA+ to help inform others and help guide a way for people to feel safe and open about who they are. Bernard's friendly personality can be consider the type of "person who has never met a stranger".
